Stunning Results for our Founding Members
The Auckland Annual Bridge Tournament is a prestigious tournament that often features fierce competition. All of our members who entered, made us here at the Newbies Bridge Club proud.
3 Wins out of 4
Among the players were Ms. Claire Patterson, the manager of Newbies bridge club, and her partner Mr. Clive Jones. The pair played a total of four games, and came first in three of them.
Claire is a longtime player of the game, and is an active advocate for bridge within our community. We are so proud to see her succeed, and make a name for our small bridge club in the city. Claire says that it was “The most challenging and exciting tournament yet!, but I think we did extremely well”.
Harry Parker and Joan Townsend were the second team who represented our club at the tournament over the weekend. They performed magnificently and took home second and third place trophies for the two games they played.
Newbies Bridge club is so proud of our founding members, and hope that all new members will find inspiration in these results. We are lucky to have such skillful members with us, who are able to help us all to become better players.

About NZ Bridge Fest
Bridge Fest started in 2004, and is held at a different bridge club each year, to raise awareness and celebrate the game of bridge. After the organisers of the first Bridge Fest at the City Bridge Club in Wellington noticed how successful their event was, they rolled it out nationwide. Now it is a popular festival that bridge lovers from all over the nation travel to every year. The festival is a great fundraising opportunity for bridge clubs around the country, as all proceeds go towards the hosting club.
